FEBRUARY HAPPENINGS

February has been a busy month. All running in different directions. There have been a number of souls baptized the last month. I traveled to Durban and then onto Venda with some brothers from Oklahoma. Chariot 1 has been working in the Free State and Chariot 2 in the Western Cape. Had some visa problems with Alick and Foster, who work Chariot 2. There are 9 Bible Students at the Pretoria short term school. We managed to put roofs on 3 church buildings and purchased a Church building for twenty thousand rand; $3,000.00. Amazing story how a beer hall becomes a Church of Christ building in Bultfontien. However, its not about buildings, but seeking and saving the lost. To tell you the truth Church buildings are not found in the early church. We got to be careful that we do not lose focus of what our mission is. Lk 19:10

The Gospel Chariots have been reaching out in the Orange Free state and Western Cape. Above shows brother Gladman preaching in Mossel Bay. This is the area I live and work from. Wonderful doors are opening in this area. Many towns do not have the Lord's Church. It is this time of the year, that we work this area. Just after doing repairs and just before Chariot 2 heads north into Africa.

Above shows some of the brethren who attended our meeting. Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay are 2 hours apart. There are many towns in the area that need congregations.

Bongani Mabena visiting before heading to the Orange Free State with Chariot 1

Then there was FOOD. The ladies in Mossel Bay did a wonderful job feeding us.

The picture tells it all. Mandy, 2nd on the left hand side, was baptized in February...Amen

Two brothers, Innocent and Junior from Plett. Innocent was also baptized during the month of February. These boys come from a good christian family. Esau and Diane are their parents.

Harrison, who is from Malawi and works with us at GCM, left month end for Namibia where he will help encourage the struggling congregation in Windhoek. The anti Church of Christ continues to plague this young congregation with their issues. Please pray for Windhoek Namibia.

Our short term Bible School building in Plett is moving ahead nicely and should be finished mid year. This will help us plant even more congregations in the region. Got to have a place to teach those being reached.

Above shows Shanga baptizing a WBS student. Shanga is our follow up man in Gauteng. If you are a WBS teacher and want to receive a WBS follow up report. Please contact Vicki on followup@gcm.co.za She will forward that onto to you. If you got follow up for us to do. Also contact her regarding that.

More souls putting on Christ. Our WBS ministry is kicking it up a notch on follow up.

Above shows a building in Bultfontien that was a beer hall and is now a Church of Christ. GCM managed to assist the brethren with the funds. We now have a place for Christians to meet. Many of our students at the short term school have been coming from this area. Some 15 years ago I traveled to this same town and baptized our brother Machona, who is today a well respected brother and evangelist in South Africa. Machona and another well-known brother from Pretoria, Brother Tebogo, are helping with this project.

Above shows brother Bongani on the left preaching and brother Pule interpreting. Bongani is the GCM preacher working on Chariot 1. He is currently having gospel meetings in this area. Pule has studied at our school and is the self-supported preacher of this congregation. Well done Pule.
The Church family in their new building. The two ladies from our GCM Pretoria office who never get the credit they should. That is Mams and Lydia. These two ladies have been with us for many years doing admin and teaching students through the post. Many souls are baptized every year because of them and Vicki Funk doing what they do. Well done ladies. O, and don't forget the other lady, Ria, my boss. Ha Ha

Talking about the boss. Here are two men who deserve to be called boss, but prefer to be called servant. Dimpo and Tebogo. Good men. Below is Machona who now also has his degree through Nations University. He was many years back a WBS student who repented and followed God and look at him today. He is actually speaking at a Lectureship in the USA this year. Well done my son Machona. You make us all proud. John Morgan was his WBS teacher years back.

Machona Monyamane. An example of one being converted and moving on to greater heights.

Above Lazarus encouraging a family that is studying through Nations University. Lazarus is a GCM power house. You can call on him any day and any time. He will just say. Here I am send me. Lazarus has his Masters of Divinity through Nations University.....WOW

Here is Lazarus baptizing some WBS students. He works out of our Pretoria office.

Seek and Save the Lost. As you can see that is a portable baptistery. Some years back we made 30 of these portable baptisteries. All you have to do is take it out of a bag and assemble it under a tap. This way you dont have a problem when wanting to baptise a soul.

Lets say it kind of works. Need a little more rope on the sides. Lord willing we will build more of these in the near future. Another thing we make many of, are communion trays. Those we make out of bread boards. We also print hundreds of Church of Christ signs and make them available for congregations that have buildings, but not Church signs. We then advertise free Bible Lessons on that same sign.

More WBS souls being baptised in Gauteng. This was evangelism taking place during Dimpo and Lazarus' December holidays.

Above shows Lazarus with a WBS student in Welkom in the Free State. A teacher in the US contacted us pleading with us to travel and baptize her first WBS student who wanted to be baptized. Lazarus volunteered and the student was baptized. Also during our December break.

Above shows some studies taking place in our GCM Durban office. Paulos and Leslie do the grading and follow-up there. There is a 2 year Bible School in Durban as well. This school is overseen by brothers Brian and Des Lister. This school has now gone over to the Nations University curriculum. Well done South African School of Preaching......AMEN

Above shows Paulos baptizing one of the souls this last month.

PREACHERS AND CHICKENS.......

Above shows the Chickens at the chicken farm in Venda. The goal of this project is to get some preachers self supported. This is a pilot project and if it works could be duplicated with other preachers. The main brain behind this project is a brother from Oklahoma, Brother Dale Brazee. They have asked us at GCM to work with them on this. There is a saying ( You got to do good with what you have or it does no good for you) ... Yes we got to try help our preachers. Instead of giving them fish, teach them to catch fish.

Look at the little chicks. 500 of them and 500 almost fully grown ones.

Another room with more chickens. Please pray that this project works. People love chicken in Africa. Ria, my wife, and Dale are working on the feasibility of it all. Will know in a couple months
Above shows the farm. It is in the Venda area that is very green and agricultural.

Look at the pawpaw's. I think Americans call it papaya.

They say you reap what you sow and that's what Lufuno has been doing.
Look at the mealies/corn growing and looking very healthy. Chicken farm on the right.

Here is the man behind the farm. Brother Lufuno on the right with his wife. On the left is our brother Malindi who is also helping to make it happen. Lufuno needs to be commended on his hard work. So much depends on him, but if it works, can you imagine how many preachers we could teach to support themselves.

Above shows us meeting with other preachers in the area discussing the project and any other ideas regarding how to be self supported. Sharing ideas are so important in life and God's work as well. They say great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things and below average people talk about other people. ...(All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today)..Amen

Above shows the 1000 seater Church building going up in Tshidimbini Venda. If you look through you can barely see our Short Term Bible School builing. Its right next to this building. In June I will be taking 12-15 campaingers to work at this school and building. Chariot 1 will be in the area as well preaching every night. Over a 100 souls are baptized every year in this regoin.

There is also a small day care center. Are they not cute.....Amen.

Above shows Brother Malindi with our USA visitors. Dale, his son, Kent and friend Austin. We drove from Durban all the way to Venda. Had a whole lot of fun. Thank you guys for loving Africa and wanting to do good. Kent, Dale's son stayed for 3 months in Venda a couple of years back, helping and touching lives. Keep up the good work and may God Bless you.
